Founder Kelsey Morfitt brings unique insight to every case. A former United States Air Force attorney and longtime Washington State resident, Kelsey’s legal career has taken her from the courtroom to the State Senate, advocating for individuals, families, and communities at every level since becoming licensed in Washington State in 2009.
Kelsey graduated magna cum laude from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma with a B.A. in Spanish and Political Science in 2006, and graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane in 2009. Her legal experience includes practicing Family Law in Tacoma since 2019, Senate Committee Services legislative attorney 2017 Session, and U.S. Air Force JAG Corps. After completing her Master’s in Urban & Regional Planning summa cum laude at the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2018, Kelsey was a legislative researcher and bill-writer for the Hawaii State Senate, primarily working with Senator Mike Gabbard (Tulsi’s Gabbard’s father), Chair of the Agriculture & Environment Committee, 2019 Session.
During law school Kelsey was a member of Gonzaga Law Review, completed community service projects and used her Spanish in Honduras with Mission Possible, and interned for the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office, the Washington State Attorney General's Office Social & Health Services, and clerked for then Chief Judge Robert Whaley in the U.S. District Court of Eastern Washington. Kelsey particularly enjoyed interning in Olympia during the 2006 Session for then Secretary of State Sam Reed, the late but great Steve Excell, and Shane Bird Hamlin. Kelsey was impressed by the hardworking and cooperative nature of several legislators that bridged party lines to create a better future for all Washingtonians. Kelsey strives to build a bridge with the other side in your case to help you build a better future.
As an Air Force attorney, Kelsey provided critical legal support to military members, working on matters such as wills, landlord-tenant disputes, and advising commanders on the Law of War, reviewing multimillion-dollar contracts, and prosecuting drug and sex offenders in federal military court.
Outside the courtroom, Kelsey enjoys volunteering with Pierce County Search & Rescue, Sunset Bible Church, and Lutheran Committee Services Northwest Santa for Seniors. She’s a former triathlete and marathon runner, and now is focused on going the extra mile for you.
